TENNIS RACQUET GRIP SIZE
GUIDE
It is important to use the
correct grip size in order
to utilise maximum comfort
and playability. Too large a
grip can strain your hand
and too small a grip can
injure your hand, wrist and
elbow over time.
To find your grip size:
1) Hold your racquet hand
flat out in front of you
with your fingers pushed
together and your palm
facing upwards.
2) There are three main
creases on your palm.
Measure from the middle
crease on your palm up to
the tip of your ring finger.
This measurement will fall
into one of the grip size
categories below.
If you end up in between two
grip sizes it is usually
better to go with the next
grip size up. However, you
can easily increase the grip
size with an overgrip or can
easily have the
grip
enlarged by a
full size or half a size. It
is much more difficult to
have the grip size reduced.
Another way to check you
have the correct grip size
on your racquet is to grip
the handle as normal and
then you should be able to
fit your first finger from
your other hand in the space
between your fingers and
your palm.
